DOZENS of fire fighters have been working through the night to quench an inferno at a barn in Monkleigh. Crews from as far afield as Ilfracombe and Ivybridge were in attendance after the alarm was raised at 10.55pm last night (Sunday.)
NEWPORT NEWS Fire fighters put out a fire at 4:25 a.m. at The Outback Steakhouse by Patrick Henry Mall. The Newport News Fire Department received an automatic fire alarm from the restaurant on 12258 Jefferson Ave. at 3:37 a.m. and arrived to discover heavy smoke coming from the back of the building, according to Assistant Fire Chief Robert O. Craft Jr.
